Getting Started with Camp PlanIt
Welcome! Camp PlanIt makes it easy to find, compare, and plan summer camps — together with other parents.
What is Camp PlanIt?
Camp PlanIt is a mobile app for parents who want to take the stress out of summer camp planning. Use it to:
- Discover local summer camps across sports, arts, STEM, and more
- Track which camps your kids are considering, registered for, or waitlisted
- Share camps with friends and other parents
- Plan together in Circles — private groups like "Hockey Team Parents" or "4th Grade Moms"
- Coordinate carpools with families heading to the same camp
Open the App
Camp PlanIt runs in your web browser, so there's nothing to download or install. Go to campplanit.net/app on any phone, tablet, or computer. The app is free for families — every feature included, with no trial or upgrade needed. See what's included →
Create Your Account
- Open Camp PlanIt and tap Sign Up.
- Enter your name, email address, and a password, then tap Create Account.
- Check your email for a verification link and tap it to confirm your address.
- Log in with your email and password.
Set Up Your Profile
A complete profile helps Camp PlanIt give you better camp recommendations and lets other parents find you easily.
- Tap the profile icon in the top-right corner of any screen.
- Add your name, city, and a profile photo (optional).
- Tap Add Child from the Home screen to enter your child's name and age. You can add multiple children.
- Tap Save when you're done.
Your Home Screen
Once you're signed in, the Home screen is your planning hub. Here's what you'll find:

Quick Actions
- Add Child — Add a child to your account so you can track camps for them.
- Add Camp — Add a camp that isn't in the directory yet. Enter it manually, or ask the Camp PlanIt team to add all of an organization's camps. Learn more →
- Child View — See a summary of all camps linked to each of your children.
- Deadlines — View upcoming registration deadlines so you never miss a cutoff.
- Find Camps — Jump straight to the Explore tab to search for camps.
- Invite Friends — Invite other parents to join Camp PlanIt.
Weekly Calendar
The calendar below the Quick Actions shows your upcoming camp dates and registration deadlines at a glance. Tap any date to see what's planned for that day.
Getting Around the App
The bottom navigation bar lets you switch between the four main sections of Camp PlanIt:
- Home — Quick Actions and your weekly calendar
- Explore — Search and browse summer camps near you
- Circles — Your planning groups with other parents
- Friends — Find and connect with other Camp PlanIt parents
